Working together to increase occupational safety
August 31, 2020
Gasgon is excited to announce a joint collaboration project with Tada Medical, a Sweden-based developer of novel IV components, to improve safety of IV infusions for patients and care providers. Recently a joint poster was accepted for display at the European Oncology Nurses Society (EONS) annual congress, in conjunction with European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). This project examines how the shifting of IV therapy from the hospital to the home will pose a challenge with regards to risk management. Two of the most important safety issues are identified to be the risk of vascular air embolism and IV line dislodgement. Exposure to hazardous drugs is a leading cause of harm for nurses, a problem which will continue into the home. Through our collaboration, both Gasgon and Tada will continue working to improve safety of hazardous drug infusions for patients, nurses and care providers across all settings.
